Former U’S: Ex-Colchester United player of the year signs for Scottish side

Former Colchester United winger Brennan Dickenson has officially signed with Scottish League One team Queen of the South.

The 31-year-old has inked a two-year contract with Queen of the South, with the possibility of extending it for an additional year.

Peter Murphy, the manager of Queen of the South, expressed his excitement about the signing, stating that there was strong competition for Dickenson’s signature. Murphy highlighted Dickenson’s ambition to contribute to the club’s success, emphasizing his experience in English football leagues and his ability to motivate his teammates.

Dickenson, who previously played for Colchester United from 2016 to 2019, made a remarkable comeback from a serious knee injury during his time with the U’s. He appeared in a total of 93 games for Colchester under manager John McGreal, scoring 15 goals.

After departing from Colchester, Dickenson had stints with MK Dons, Exeter City, and Carlisle before joining Queen of the South. Despite playing for Hartlepool United and Oldham Athletic following his release from Carlisle, Dickenson has now found a new home in Scottish football.

Known for his impressive performances, Dickenson was recognized with the player-of-the-year and players’ player-of-the-year awards during his debut season at Colchester.

Fans of Queen of the South and followers of Scottish League One are eager to witness Dickenson’s contribution to the team and how he can elevate their performance on the field.

With this latest signing, Queen of the South aims to achieve greater success in the upcoming seasons with Dickenson’s valuable experience and skills on their side.
