Fortnite players will soon have the opportunity to play with a free Juice WRLD skin as a way to honor the late rapper, Jarad Anthony Higgins. The skin, called the “cel-shaded Slayer Juice WRLD Outfit,” will be available for a limited time to all players who log in between November 30 at 1 a.m. ET and December 1 at 1 a.m. ET. This tribute comes shortly after the release of Juice WRLD’s posthumous album, The Party Never Ends, on November 22.
The announcement of the free skin was teased at the end of the Chapter 2 Remix trailer, which also featured appearances from other artists like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Ice Spice. The number 999, which held significance for Juice WRLD, is prominently displayed in the trailer, appearing on an empty chair and in the clouds alongside a silhouette of the rapper’s head.
Juice WRLD’s mother, Carmella Wallace, expressed her appreciation for the collaboration, stating that playing Fortnite was more than just entertainment for her son – it was a way for him to connect with others. She mentioned that video games had always been a part of how Juice WRLD bonded with friends and family, making his presence in Fortnite a fitting tribute to that connection. Wallace believes that Juice WRLD would have been thrilled to see how his love for games continues to bring people together, much like his music does.
For players who miss the window to claim the free Juice WRLD skin, there will still be an option to purchase it afterwards. This collaboration between Fortnite and Juice WRLD serves as a reminder of the impact that the rapper had on the gaming community and his fans, further solidifying his legacy in both the music and gaming worlds.
