Members of Jerry Jones’ family were involved in a car accident outside Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, before the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night, according to a report by The Athletic. The incident occurred when the “second vehicle in the Jones Family caravan” was hit by a “rising barricade” outside the stadium.
The individuals in the car included Jerry’s daughter, Charlotte Jones Anderson, his son, Jerry Jones Jr., and Charlotte’s son, Shy Anderson Jr. Following the accident, Charlotte and Jerry Jr. were evaluated by the Cowboys’ medical staff at the stadium and were able to move to the visiting owners’ suite to watch the game.
Reportedly, Charlotte may have suffered a rib injury while Jerry Jr. had a head injury as a result of the accident, as per information provided by the Jones family to The Athletic. The Jones family is known for being dedicated supporters of the Cowboys, attending games throughout the season and traveling extensively to watch their team in action.
Charlotte Jones Anderson holds the position of executive vice president and chief brand officer for the Cowboys, in addition to being the first woman to chair the NFL Foundation, which oversees philanthropic initiatives within the sport. Jerry Jones Jr. serves as the chief sales and marketing officer, as well as the executive vice president of the team. All three of Jerry Jones’ children are co-owners of the franchise, with Stephen Jones serving as the chief operating officer.
The Jones family had traveled to the Bay Area with hopes of a better outcome for the Cowboys compared to their previous game at Levi’s Stadium last season, where they suffered a 42-10 loss to the 49ers. The team currently holds a 3-3 record for the year, coming off a significant loss to the Detroit Lions before their bye week.
As the Washington Commanders stand at 6-2 and the Philadelphia Eagles at 5-2, the Cowboys are aware of the need to keep up in order to remain competitive for the NFC East title, which they secured in 2023. It is essential for them to continue performing well in the upcoming games to maintain their position in the division.
