Phoenixville’s very own Kevin Bacon is set to star in a horror-comedy film called Family Movie, alongside his wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick, and their two children, Travis and Sosie Bacon. The movie follows the story of an eclectic filmmaking family working on a low-budget slasher film, who find themselves in a bind when a body is discovered on set.
What makes this project even more special is that Bacon and Sedgwick will not only be starring in the film but also directing it. The movie is being produced by their entire family under Bacon’s Mixed Breed Films label, in collaboration with producer Norman Golightly from Dark Castle Entertainment.
Norman Golightly expressed his excitement about working with the Bacon family, stating, “There may not be a more compelling Hollywood family than the Bacons. We can’t wait to bring their unique dynamic to the screen and then wildly turn it on its head for audiences.”
While both Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have experience in directing, this will be their first joint project. Bacon has previously directed films like Losing Chase and Loverboy, which featured Sedgwick and the rest of the family. On the other hand, Sedgwick has directed projects like Story of a Girl and Space Oddity, which also involved her husband.
As of now, the production timeline for the movie has not been announced. Fans of the Bacons and horror-comedy films alike will be eagerly awaiting more updates on this exciting project.
