Los Angeles Times Welcomes Class of 2025 Spring Interns
The Los Angeles Times has a rich history of nurturing budding journalists through its internship program, and this spring, a new cohort of interns is ready to dive into the world of storytelling. These five talented individuals, all hailing from Southern California, are poised to tackle some of the region’s most pressing issues, from arts and entertainment to wildfires and sports.
Alia Yee Noll, a junior at USC majoring in journalism, is set to bring her passion for storytelling to The Times as the Image intern. With a background in arts and entertainment editing, as well as experience at Ms. Magazine, Alia is eager to explore new avenues of visual storytelling. When she’s not immersed in the world of journalism, you can find her wandering through museums and sampling the diverse culinary offerings of Southern California.
Amy Contreras, a recent graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, is excited to join De Los and engage with the L.A. Latinx community. Her background in comparative ethnic studies and Spanish, coupled with her experience in podcasting and communications, makes her a valuable addition to the team. Amy’s love for Mexican telenovelas and homemade lattes adds a touch of warmth to her storytelling, reflecting her deep connection to her cultural roots.
Benjamin Royer, a native Angeleno and upcoming master’s graduate in specialized journalism from USC, is set to join The Times as a sports reporter. With a keen interest in investigative journalism, Benjamin has already made a mark in the world of sports reporting, covering a range of topics from high school sports to professional basketball. His dedication to uncovering the truth in sports stories is sure to bring a fresh perspective to the Sports section of The Times.
Lupe LLerenas, a bilingual journalist and proud first-generation Mexican American, is ready to uncover untold stories as a content creator at De Los. With a background in cultural reporting and a passion for hip-hop and Latin music, Lupe brings a unique perspective to her storytelling. Her work has been featured in a variety of publications, showcasing her versatility and dedication to amplifying diverse voices.
Anthony Solorzano, a Pomona native with a knack for storytelling, is thrilled to join The Times as an intern. With experience contributing to a range of publications and writing newsletters on culture and social commentary, Anthony’s storytelling prowess is sure to shine at The Times. His love for weaving narratives through film and television adds a creative flair to his work, making his stories both engaging and thought-provoking.
