Mother nature seems to be following the calendar closely this week in Ohio. There will be a shift in the weather pattern with a decent amount of moisture moving through the state. Today is expected to be mostly dry with a mix of clouds and sun. Areas farther south may see more sun, while the north will experience more clouds. Northwestern Ohio will have plenty of clouds with a chance of spits or sprinkles in the afternoon. The majority of the state will remain dry until after midnight tonight and tomorrow when a cold front will bring .25″-1″ of rain with 80% coverage.

Wednesday will bring a dry slot after the front passes, but limited sunshine. Mild temperatures will start the day but strong north winds in the afternoon will lead to a significant drop in temperatures. An upper level low will detach from the Jet stream towards the end of the week, causing a continuous circulation of clouds, moisture, and cold air from Thursday to Saturday. Although precipitation will be light, ranging from a few hundredths to a few tenths each day, some areas may see both rain and wet snowflakes. The likelihood of wet snowflakes will be higher overnight and near Lake Erie.

The upcoming weekend is expected to start with drier conditions and more sunshine on Sunday. Monday will bring a mix of clouds and sun with slightly warmer temperatures. However, there is a chance of moisture moving in overnight on Monday and into Tuesday, with potential rainfall of .25″-.75″ and 80% coverage. Wednesday of the following week is likely to be precipitation-free but mostly cloudy. Thanksgiving will be cooler with strong north winds, and there may be another round of moisture on Black Friday. The weekend will have a mix of cloudy to partly sunny skies, ushering in a chill as December begins.

Looking ahead to November 12, 2024, the weather system will bring clouds overnight into tomorrow night, followed by scattered showers on Thursday. Rain totals are expected to be under half an inch with approximately 80% coverage. Be prepared for some wet weather in the days to come in Ohio.
