Embattled Rep. Jamaal Bowman, who is currently facing a tough primary battle in New York, is now dealing with allegations of plagiarism in his 2019 dissertation. The accusations come at a critical time as he prepares for the upcoming primaries in the state.

Bowman, a former educator and principal from the Bronx, is accused of using quotes from various sources without proper attribution in his dissertation from Manhattanville College. The analysis by The Daily Wire and activist Christopher Rufo revealed that Bowman borrowed the definition of Critical Race Theory from R. Rolon-Dow’s book “Critical Race Theory: An Introduction” without giving credit. Additionally, he reportedly replaced “Latino/Latina” with “Latinx/Latina” without acknowledgment.

According to the report, sections of Bowman’s paper were discovered to have directly copied text from writers such as René Antrop-González, Anthony De Jesús, Tenah Hunt, Kristen Slack, and Lawrence Berger. Despite these allegations, Bowman’s office has not yet responded to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

The progressive congressman, known for being a member of the “Squad,” is currently facing a tough challenge in the primaries from George Latimer, a more moderate Democrat, in New York’s 16th district. Bowman recently expressed feeling “bullied” during the primary contest and mentioned that his wife was upset by the challenges he was facing.

In addition to the plagiarism allegations, Bowman also issued an apology this week for initially denying claims that Hamas committed atrocities, including rape, during a terrorist attack in Israel. He acknowledged his mistake and stated that he is not perfect and is willing to take accountability for his actions.

As the primary elections draw near, Bowman’s candidacy is under intense scrutiny, with both his political record and personal integrity being questioned. The outcome of the primaries in New York’s 16th district will undoubtedly have significant implications for the future of Bowman’s political career and the Democratic Party as a whole.
