Eugene Tulyagijja, a recent graduate of Syracuse University, has been appointed as the basketball data analyst for the men’s basketball program at the university. In his new role, Tulyagijja will be responsible for providing detailed player analytics, advanced scouting, and coaching performance analysis to support the coaching staff and front office operations of the team.

Prior to this position, Tulyagijja gained experience in the field of data analytics by working with the William Morris Endeavor, a global entertainment agency, where he provided pre-draft analytics for NBA and NCAA athletes. He also served as an analytics intern with the Syracuse men’s basketball program while pursuing his undergraduate degree, overseeing a team of student interns and contributing to player evaluation.

During the summer of 2022, Tulyagijja worked as a data analyst for the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he developed ticket pricing models based on team performance and managed sales call campaigns for the franchise teams. In addition to his professional experience, Tulyagijja has also been actively involved in basketball analytics, running a blog since 2022 and working as an analytics writer for Sports Illustrated’s draft digest.

Furthermore, Tulyagijja has coaching experience with SSBA Basketball in Thailand, where he coached youth players at summer camps and clinics. His efforts led to a significant increase in camp enrollment, showcasing his ability to contribute positively to player development both on and off the court.

As a graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in sport analytics, Tulyagijja brings a strong academic background to his new role with the men’s basketball program. His diverse experiences in data analytics, coaching, and player development make him a valuable addition to the team as they strive for success in the upcoming seasons.
