Donald Trump’s sons, Eric and Donald Jr., are scheduled to speak at the Republican National Convention, but there is no word on Melania Trump’s role at the event. The Trump campaign and Republican National Committee announced that several family members, former primary rivals, and elected officials will deliver speeches at the convention.
Melania Trump, the former First Lady, was not listed as a “headliner or keynote speaker” for the event. It is unclear whether she plans to attend the convention as the campaign did not provide any information on her participation. Melania has not been as active in her husband’s third presidential campaign compared to previous ones, including not joining him on the campaign trail or during his recent criminal trial in Manhattan.
The list of convention speakers includes Eric and Donald Jr., Eric’s wife Lara Trump, and Donald Jr.’s fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle. However, Trump’s daughters Tiffany and Ivanka, along with their spouses, were not listed as speakers. This is a departure from previous conventions where both women delivered speeches in support of their father.
In addition to family members, several of Trump’s former primary rivals, including Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, will also be speaking at the convention. Other elected Republican officials and candidates with previously rocky relationships with Trump, such as Gov. Glenn Youngkin of Virginia and Senate candidate Dave McCormick, are scheduled to speak as well.
Celebrities like Tucker Carlson, Amber Rose, Savannah Chrisley, and Dana White have also been invited to speak at the convention. Top contenders to be Trump’s running mate, including Gov. Doug Burgum of North Dakota, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, and Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, are on the speaker list. Additionally, an English bulldog named Babydog will join her owner, Gov. Jim Justice of West Virginia, on stage.
